Prepare a Schengen visa photo
A 35 × 45 mm crop is common for many Schengen visa applications, but requirements may vary by member state, consulate, visa centre and application channel. Check the relevant consulate or visa-centre checklist before printing or uploading.
Use the preset to get started, then review the official application instructions.

- Choose a recent, sharp image with even lighting and a plain background.
- Look directly at the camera with a neutral expression unless the authority says otherwise.
- Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP file, then zoom, rotate and reposition the crop.
- Export as JPEG, PNG or WebP. For printing, use actual size / 100% and verify the physical dimensions.
- Check the issuing authority's current photo rules before you submit the image.
Size is only one requirement
Authorities can also specify head height, eye position, background colour, facial visibility, recency, resolution, file type and maximum file size. This free tool crops and resizes images; it does not certify biometric compliance, remove backgrounds or guarantee acceptance.
